Transcript for "What's New in SolarWinds Observability Self-Hosted 2026.2": Hello, everybody. Thanks for joining us. We still have some folks, coming IT. So we're gonna wait a couple more minutes, and then we'll, we'll kick off the presentation. Alright. Well, hello, everybody. Welcome, and, thanks for joining us for this webinar. This is the what's new in twenty twenty six point two. Of course, that's referring to the latest release of SolarWinds Observability self hosted and related Orion modules. We are going to go through we're very excited about this release, first of all, I should say that, and we're gonna go through what's in it. We're gonna give you a demo and answer questions and all those things. I'm just trying to get control of the deck here. Here we go. Okay. I I'm Eric F. I'm a product marketing manager here IT SolarWinds. I'm based in Austin, and, I've been with the company for about ten years. I've been in the PMM role for two of those years and worked on the video team prior to that. So I was more comfortable being behind the camera than in front of it, but, you know, new job, new requirements. And, joining me today is Chad Evry. And, Chad, I'll let you introduce yourself. Yeah. Thanks, Eric. So I'm Chad Evry. I'm one of the product managers at SolarWinds focusing on the Orion Observability IT Hosted Product Suite. So just like Eric, I started in IT because I liked being behind the camera too, but here I am. Here we are. They got us. Yeah. They got us. So, just real quick, the agenda here is this is what we have laid out for you, in the next hour. Chad's gonna start off by going over SAM of the key highlights that are in this release, including SW1, which is the term that we use for the, the Gen, the AI agent that we have introduced into our products. We're also with this release, we are excited about a new AI tier that, we'll get into a little bit more detail, in later and then Chad's gonna walk us through a demo of some of the highlights of some of the the it's kind of the key features that we're excited about showing you, and then we'll have time for q and a. But I will say that as we go along, if you look over on the right there, I know a lot of you have already discovered the chat, there's also a q and a tab. And please ask questions as we go. We have, team members backstage that are ready, willing, and able to answer your questions as we go along. And I would also encourage you, there's the ability to upvote questions that others ask. So if there's a question that you would have asked or that resonates with you, please upvote it because we it helps us understand, you know, where where the priorities are for all of you and kind of which which questions are resonating and which ones, are most important to you. So, with that, I guess maybe we'll just jump right IT. Oh, after q and a, SaaS. NTM gonna plug a couple of upcoming events and provide some additional resources as well. So that's it. Well, let's jump into the content, the reason why you guys all came. And, Chad, this one's for you. Sure. The NIO. There there is quite a bit in this release. Even this particular slide doesn't do it justice. We AI to just take some of the the the biggest features that we wanted to showcase. So I know I'll I'll plug this in throughout AI the whole webinar, but, you know, we highly encourage you to get just go check out the release notes and get the full scoop. There's also a blog post off the whack for all of this. But we've tried to at least segment this out into different categories for the release based off different areas of focus. And so, obviously, cloud monitoring has been one, that has been a focus for now several years, just expanding that story. Bringing in more items from GCP, just like we have the past few releases, and then adding things into Azure and AWS, which we've had support for for some time. The cost tracking item, it was released at the beginning of this year, and we're just expanding out the visibility. So ITSM extra dashboards available on the customer that help you just understand of the things that I can monitor within SolarWinds. What's it costing me? So that just kinda helps you understand that. Inside of the other areas and I'll what I'll probably do is I'll I'll probably skip the items that I know I'm gonna demo, so we don't have too much repeats. But, the the IPAM, IP address management can now integrate with Azure virtual, virtual networks. Added SD WAN for on premise FortiGate. That was a highly requested. We previously had kind of their, cloud orchestrator support. Now for those that have the the on prem version of that can now integrate with the Platform, and then expanding topology level connections for extreme switches. We also added support for a storage array, Dell power PowerMax. That was a pretty heavily requested item that we've now brought in for those that own our storage resource monitor. And then inside of just the platform user experience, engine load balancing, this one is really interesting. This one, you know, right NTM, if you're a large deployment and you have several engines spread across your infrastructure, you have things assigned to them, over time, you can have over assignments to those engines, and that does require an admin to go in and kind of rebalance or reassign those to different engines to make sure one isn't overloaded. But now what we're trying to do is take that off of your plate. IT so engine load balancing is an attempt to basically automatically balance load across the engines. And, definitely check out the the blog post that will kinda go into that. We don't demo it because there isn't per se much to demo, but we also have some NTA some knowledge based articles that go into how it works and how to configure it and such. The scheduled maintenance windows, this is one that we've expanded on over the past couple of releases and just making sure that if you need to schedule maintenance, you could do that now in the UI. And we're we've added some extra maybe some more complex scheduling AI, you know. So if there's a certain release schedule that comes out and you wanna wait to that date plus, say, two days, you know, just to make sure that, you know, nothing is is gonna be wrong with, say, a Windows update or something like that, or maybe it's a internal type of calendar item and you just wanna say NTM gonna do this date plus some other. We kind of added a that kind of special condition. We have made some changes to the GUI. We will go over some of these in the in the DEM. So I don't know if I'll touch too much on that one. We do have some items that we'll that we'll demo on SW1 one, so I'll kinda skip over that one. We've added some additional alert integration with our SolarWinds incident response that's formally called SquadCast. And then we'll kinda touch on some new, a new additional licensing option that we're calling Premier. But, But, hopefully, I think I I maybe covered everything I NTA. So I think we can keep going, Eric. I I don't think I see the option to advance, but we'll go ahead and click one more. Gotcha. Yeah. We'll we'll go into the the SolarWinds agent, which we're calling SW one. This is gonna be kind of a brief kinda discussion. So we we released this at the beginning of this year in a preview state. It's still in a preview state. It's one of those AI. It's right now, it's not meant to be PerfStack. But what we're trying to do is open it up to our customers and trying to collect a lot of information and feedback, see their use cases. We've already done a lot of that already, and so we're trying to make sure that we get this one right before we kinda take the preview tag off of it. But, generally, what this is and how it works is it's, you know, it's a conversational AI IT embedded into the product. So it'll open a side panel. You'll be able to ask questions about your infrastructure. Nodes be monitored, alerts, and so forth. It will have the ability to communicate back to your private SolarWinds cloud tenant, which kind of orchestrates and does all of the heavy compute from the AI standpoint NTA then sends that response back down into your AI of product SWO you can have that conversational tool there. And so it's just natural language. So you can just talk talk about whatever it is that you're looking for, and we'll go ahead and try and respond to that. I I will say we are expanding the supported types of items that we can work with since this is in a previous state, but it still could is pretty powerful with what it can do today. If you when you wanna click next, Eric, we'll kinda tackle this evolution. So AI I said, it it is relatively new this year. So the 2026 dot one version was the first release. You know, we had a service release in between, and then we just came out with a 2026 dot '2 release that came out with some extra features. So for those that, wanted to make it easier to set up, we kind of made that experience just a single button that an admin can click and basically configure the platform to talk into the SolarWinds cloud tenant. We've added chat history and added support for virtualization and applications and added historical metrics. And, again, we'll kinda cover all of this inside of the of the demo. I know, Eric, I think you were talking about maybe mentioning this later, but maybe I'll just talk to it now. For those that do have this configured and set up, for those that upgrade to the 2026 dot two version, we added a little feedback link up in the top title header section of that panel. And we, you know, just encourage you guys to go ahead and give us some honest feedback. So, again, like, we've collected a lot of feedback over the past year and definitely have worked with individuals to capture direct IT you know, information, but we're definitely looking to make sure that we're doing it right and we're capturing your use case and the needs here. So put that plug out. Yeah. This IT Chad SaaS, this is the testing and feedback phase. And so if you are running any of the additions of self hosted observability, then you have the ability to, turn on Platform Connect and and start AI, and we'd absolutely love to know what you like, what you don't like, what you'd like to see it do that it doesn't currently do. That information really does drive how the product team prioritize what what it works on. So definitely encourage you guys to let us know what you like and don't like. And one thing I'll add to this is this does require the observability self hosted license, to enable the SW one. It also will work in the preview period for those that do an evaluation of of observability self hosted. So if you wanted to try it out and you're on a different licensing path, you can just do that instant evaluation inside the product and turn that on. One of the things that we've actually done this year IT, you know, when you did an evaluation, you get thirty days and then it would AI, and then you have to go contact sales to get another extension or a license key. That process still is there. But for those that upgrade to a new version, we automatically will reset that license for an evaluation for you. So if you've tried an eval in the past and now have upgraded, you'll have the ability to reevaluate the software so you can continue to use it. Yeah. That's a great point. I'm glad you brought that up. Alright. Does that, does that cover SW AI? I I think so. Let's move on. Good. Alrighty. Okay. Well, I did mention earlier that we do have a new licensing tier. NTM gonna spend a ton of time on this, but I did want to make you all aware of this NTM, this new license. And the reason for that is because we're pretty excited about it because it definitely represents the most comprehensive single offering to date that we've ever had. So what it includes IT addition to everything that you would have in the advanced tier, it also adds a license for the network infrastructure and cloud observability, SaaS license. I know IT a mouthful. We typically refer to it as NICO for short, but it's that it's that deeper cloud and container monitoring IT. It's that instead of having to choose between self hosted deployment and the SaaS deployment, this really does give you the ability to do both AI. You can take advantage of the, you know, the deeper NTA that you can collect, you know, from OpenTelemetry. And it's also, you know, it's a great bridge to SaaS if you're looking to migrate, or it's a great landing point if you have an environment that requires or could benefit from from having both deployment options. And you're allowed to, you know, deploy your nodes your node count wherever you want. There's no restrictions on, you know, how much goes to self hosted or DEM SaaS. You have the flexibility there with that. It also includes, WPM or, you know, the web performance monitoring product that we have. And so it's for organizations that need that synthetic end user monitoring, Gen you have, you need to make sure that you've got your, end users are experiencing, you know, your web applications the way that you need them to. It's got proactive alerting and reporting and, you know, can provide sort of that that those business critical SLAs for your end users. It also includes a AI to storage resource monitor. So if you, need to have more visibility into your storage arrays and IT across, you know, performance capacity and health for that. It's multi vendor, so it includes SAN and NAS and direct attached storage, and it provides automatic mapping to the arrays and ones and volumes and, you know, the VMs that and applications that they connect to. And then it also includes, and Chad mentioned this earlier, incident response, which was formerly known as SquadCast, which we acquired a couple years ago, and we've been working on the back end to integrate this into the rest of our portfolio. And so, you know, for organizations that need that AI of unified visibility for, you know, for routing, tickets and escalation incidents and kind of having, you know, putting all of that into a a more unified workflow. It provides that as well. So that's that's Pingdom what AI wanted to say about that. We'll just move forward to, this, is a kind of a good overview snapshot of what each of the three tiers offers and kind of the differences between them. DPA, again, just at the top in the orange bar there with this to, you know, again to reiterate that all three tiers of observability IT have the SW one agent IT, at this and it's it's it's included with the license at this point. So this is just a quick snapshot on our licensing page of what the different tiers cost and what's included at kind of a high level. And and that's about it, I would say. Anyway, if you we have we are providing links. I think they're being put in the docs tab to the right there and we have links to documentation pages that have a lot more information regarding licenses and the different tiers if you want more information on that. But, with all that said, I'd like to move on and and get into the demo here. Chad's gonna walk us through, you know, some of the the features and functionality that that we're most excited about. We think, hopefully, that you will be most excited about. So, we'll come back, when when he's, Yep. Sorry. Go ahead. I was gonna say, Eric, maybe just one last plug before we dive into the demo. For those that joined late, if you look into the chat, which should be on your top right of the page, there's a tab for q and a. So if you've had questions so far, you know, feel free to go to that q and a tab and post. Or if you have questions of anything that you might see in the demo, do the same. We have a lot of individuals on the backstage that can answer those. And, plus, we'll kind of use that as we get to the q and a after the demo too to help answer any questions along that path. Great shout out. Yep. Exactly. Yeah. Bring your questions. We we have folks standing by waiting to answer them or are probably already in actually doing that. SWO, yeah, we will have a a q and a, actual, you know, section for this where we can respond to some of this AI. But, in any event, let's jump into the DEM. It may generate some more questions, and then we'll we'll come back after after Chad's finished AI through this for you. Let's do IT. Alright. Now SaaS we dive into the demos here, one of the things that we've done is at least AI this SaaS the items that we'll show first will be items that will be observability self hosted exclusive, and Gen the the second half will be items that will be inclusive to everyone, regardless of your licensing. The first item that we're gonna demo is our SolarWinds AI agent, which we're just calling SW1 one. So for for those that are familiar with it or are not familiar with it, we'll have this little AI icon up at the top window. So once that is shown, you'll have the ability to interact with the SolarWinds AI Gen, kind of the the natural language model. Now one of the things that we'll do is we've added some suggested prompts. Now these technically came out in the last service release, but we're gonna just highlight them again that if maybe you didn't know what to ask or maybe you're just looking to understand what its capabilities are or just wanted to, you know, see what what it can do, the suggestion prompts are a great way to start. So you can just go ahead and pick one and start right away. Otherwise, you can come to the bottom and you can AI whatever you wanted to ask it. So AI do something like, show me the top five volumes by DEM usage. Now the the way that this particular feature works is when you ask it a question, it has to figure out the context of what's being asked. It has to then craft a query to fetch the right data, and then it'll grab that result set from your database. It will take in the information and send it up into the SolarWinds cloud tenant that you created as part of Platform Connect. And then it'll process all of that data and send it back down into the UI SWO you can now see the response that's there. There's there's a lot of steps involved. It's just one of those things of we're kind of a a self hosted kind of type of model, and then we're kind of now having that interaction with a cloud environment. So this comes back with the data that AI kind of asked for. We've also, you know, Observability to expand out the real estate if you wanted more room to to see the response or or whatever. You can look through this, see the responses. We'll add additional suggested prompts. So what this does is basically look at the original question and then attempts to formulate additional answers that you might look at. So I can maybe just I'll just pick one, you know, show me the top DEM AI performance for these top five volumes. You know, so it's gonna go do with the same thing. It SaaS, well, IT takes the original context. It adds to it. It fetches more NTA, Gen it up into the cloud tenant, processes that information, you know, and then it'll go ahead and send that information back down. And so, you know, what's nice about this is you can start to have, you know, a conversation with this AI agent about a a particular entity or sets of issues or maybe it's alerts or whatever that might be. And I'll give it a second here for this to go ahead and complete. Alright. So it it went ahead and completed. And so, you know, it kinda just says, okay. Well, AI initially SaaS Ops five volumes by usage. Now it'll come back to top five volumes by PerfStack. NCM gives me all that data. You know, I can scroll down and say, okay. IT gives me more suggested prompts. And now that you've kind of worked with this, you can say, great. I can maybe ask more questions. I can follow-up with it, have more conversation. But what we have added into this that we feel is gonna be really helpful, and this is something common with other types of agents that might be out there. And you might have already seen this in the UI here, is I have this history tab NTM. Because, obviously, you're not gonna always keep this conversation open, and you might add ask other questions. You might go to lunch. You you do a lot of different things. You wanna pull back up a previous conversation that you've had and have it remember that previous context that's out there. And so I can come to a history section, and maybe I just select a previous conversation that I had earlier. The the history is gonna be user specific. So if I wanted to understand, you know, a question that I asked previously, I could say, hey. Which application server SAM the high CPU or memory usage? You AI, go ahead DPA I can just load that back up. You know, maybe I was trying to do some type of analysis on an outage or an AlertStack I I could just now pick right back up and continue the conversation where I left off. So really useful to be able to do that. We've added the ability to see application data. That's AI of what I'm showing here. We've added the ability to see virtualization entities NTM. And then we've also added the ability for more historical based information. So previously, it was what we call AI just referenced as current state. So what's happening right now and what nodes are down. Now with the historical information, we can say, hey. Show me nodes that were down in the past twenty four hours, you know, or, hey. What alerts, you know, were having issues over the past week? Right? You could have more history based conversations with the AI agent. So those are just some of the the enhancements that we've added into SWO that we're pretty excited about. To move on to the next feature, and I'm actually gonna go into a different lab that has the information that I need. So we added the ability in the release at the beginning of this year NTM have what we are calling routing insights. You know, it was found under the my dashboards. I could go to network, and we have this routing insights tab. It IT was a table view of all the the routing information kind of stitched together. We've now added the ability for it to be more visual in the approach. The the original two tabs are still here at the top, routing neighbors and routing table, but now we've just added, you know, more KPI widgets and proportional and table widgets just to give you a little more understanding of the entire routing environment in your infrastructure. So right. You can just see it. Right? Total monitor prefixes, flattening routes. You can see protocols. All of that information will be there. And, you know, as you select a particular area, what it's gonna do is just take me to one of those other tabs that we have. So this is one that we had AI of originally, and it'll go ahead and say, okay. Well, here's how all of that information. You know, as you go to any of these tabs, you can also kinda do searching because I just wanna look for BGP information, and it'll go ahead and filter that information. So it's kind of this, like, a universal search. So the the routing summary, like I said, it's a better visual representation of the routing and environment in your infrastructure. Again, we have a lot more planned in this kind of routing insights area that we're gonna be excited to showcase. The next feature that I wanted to show is in relation to log information that we can collect. SWO, right, this is Syslog. This is your SMNP trap data. This might be, server logs or virtualization events. What this will do, and I don't know how much data I actually have in this particular Platform logs, so I have to just, work with what we got. So what this will allow us to do is in the search bar, originally, this was Pingdom just a single text type of search. It didn't allow a lot of flexibility into making it complex or anything. You know? So I could search for, you know, s and NTM p, and, you know, that was about all I could do. What we've now added is the ability to do conditional based statements here. So very similar to other types of Loggly products, SWO I could SAM, I'll do a and and, you know, maybe, you know, I'll see I'll do, I'll just do something like message because I can see that in the list. SWO I can SAM, AI, search for this message. Yeah. It'll filter that data. It'll go ahead and show that in the list. You know, maybe I'll do, an or here, and I'll just search for SolarWinds and go ahead and look for that. And, you know, as I kind of have these compound searches now, I can be a little more creative in the type of data that I'm looking for. And definitely, it's gonna help with troubleshooting log information that's there. And so you can say, it's kinda containing this information. I'll just add these and or statements in there to filter that down to what I'm looking for. The the one item here is, you know, when as you type these conditional statements, you'll just need to do it in all Ops, and then it'll AI of translate it into the the color coded condition, that you can work with. And, you know, we just feel that'll be a lot better in working with Loggly information that's there. This particular feature is available in the observability self hosted license, but it's also available if you own our log analyzer module too. Just wanted to make sure I called that out. The rest of what I'll showcase of the dental this is inclusive to everybody regardless of the licensing model that you're working with. So let me actually go into the alerting section. You know, this is one that I think has a lot of promise and a lot of things a lot of good things that can come out of this. So to start, I'm actually just gonna go manage a particular alert, and I have one that I worked on earlier for routing. So I I just copied this, neighbors down and just called it neighbors down with suppression. And so what this will look like and I'll maybe start with what is the same. So let's look at the trigger condition, you know, what conditions have to be met for the alert to to fire. Now what this will do in in this IT, okay. Well, I'm gonna alert on my routing neighbor that's at the top here. And then the conditions are AI. It's just, you know, status is down and the the neighbor is deleted. AI? You know, as long as those are met, we'll trigger the alert. That has worked for a lot of customers, but it isn't PerfStack. You know, you're gonna have scenarios where a routing neighbor goes down, but maybe that's because some other thing related to that node had an issue. And sometimes what that does is create multiple alerts around the same thing in the environment. So what the alert suppression does is allow better management of that. So this new suppression condition was added IT the alert, and the big thing here is, you know, when the when the condition is met, the alert and its actions don't run. So in this case, I'm I'm alerting on a routing neighbor, but what I went ahead and configured IT, okay, well, I'm gonna switch this to alert on an interface. And if the interface status is down, obviously, the route is going to be down. So I don't want to create multiple alerts for that type of scenario. I can come right in here and say, well, if the interface is down, just suppress everything. We'll configure that, and then I can go over to the summary, and this will say it's gonna trigger on about five different objects. AI go ahead and submit that off. And the way this will look back on the active alert page is there's gonna be those alerts for my routing neighbors. And then what we will see is this kind of tag or label that we've SaaS IT ITSM now been suppressed. We decided that we wanted to IT least keep the visibility of a suppressed alert inside of the all active alerts page. But AI we had mentioned at the beginning, it simply suppresses the actions for that alert. So it's not going to generate a notification. Right? It's not gonna send an email or maybe integrate with, incident management platform or whatever that is. And you can still drag drill into that particular alert to get to the details. We'll still let you know it's suppressed, that the alerts didn't fire, but we wanted to at least bring awareness to what is actually being suppressed here. This could be pretty helpful too if you maybe run reports or look at a a list of events. You can kind of see that suppression happening behind the scenes. What's unique about this methodology is it allows you to be really complex in how you define those conditions. Previously, we had some level of suppression, but it typically involved more of a topology based dependency. So we just have a section in settings called manage dependencies, and you could say node a and node b and node c, they're all connected. If node a goes down, we can automatically suppress b and c. That that was pretty straightforward. We try and automatically do that. Customers can also create manual dependencies. But in the scenario that I mentioned, right, I have routing information and routing alerts, plus I have other, maybe, interface down alerts or a NIO down alert. So now what I could do is say, well, AI suppress all of my routing alerts if the interface is down or if the NTM is down. I can create those. Or I can potentially think of other different types of scenarios where, you know, maybe it isn't a topology based dependency that's there. I AI say, hey. You know, if this particular application goes into warning, but if I have another dependency and suppression that I define, maybe it's related to a cluster or something else that's unique enough, I could IT could define those conditions, and then it'll just go ahead and suppress that. So pretty awesome. A pretty great feature that we're that we're excited for. The other thing that we wanted to showcase, you'll have probably at least seen IT. We have this little discovery section up at the top right of the menu bar. This is only visible to admin users. It can also be found just by going to settings and clicking on Discovery Central here. So we we had a previous page called Discovery Central. It was it was about a mile long with a lot of different things. Plus, what we realized is there's just a lot of different wizards in our tool to add different types of data, and we wanted to try and bring that together and make it easier to find those for users. And so what Discovery Central is trying to do is, you know, one, you know, just some recommended actions at the top. These will, you know, kind of rotate over time IT future releases with different things that we think are relevant. And then the section below is gonna be those different types of wizards that you could launch and start adding that that data into your platform. So right now, we kinda have it for all you know, maybe I wanted to do networking, maybe I wanted to do just platform related things, so some SAM kind of quick filters here. And then based on what you're looking for, you can go ahead and say, oh, I'm gonna go ahead and add virtualization. Right? I could just go ahead and click add data, and it's gonna launch me right into that wizard. Right? I can add, you know, b b man and Nutanix and ProxMax and all of that and dive right into that process. There's other things AI just a general network discovery. You know, it's kind of this combo button now. You know, maybe it's discovered my network, you know, SAM my subnets, all of those things, or maybe it's just simply AI just I need to add a single node. And so some of the the widgets, which is, some of the buttons here are just gonna say, hey. It's a compound. There's multiple things you could potentially add in this area. Some of them might allude to the fact that it's already configured, and maybe you just need to go, you know, recon NIO. Maybe it's I already configured cloud as an example, but maybe I need to add a new provider or a new cloud account. Right? So you can just quickly add that in here. So just another way that we're we're hoping it just makes it easier to find all the different ways to add information into the platform. The other thing, and this will be the last thing that we'll showcase here, is we're just have a new tab and IT called what's NTM. As the tab name kinda says it all, what this is doing is just helping you understand what's new in the particular release. We wanted to take a different different avenue on this one. We we didn't want to just regurgitate the release notes and have you, you know, necessarily have to read through all of this because you might have already done that, you know, in in a different release notes and things that we ETS out there. What we wanted in this particular version is Gen to keep it short SWO it it doesn't contain everything in the release notes. It tries to just highlight key features, and it's trying to make it a little more interactive. So if you're looking at it, we AI of broke it out by here's some headline features. You know, obviously, we're gonna call out the new Discovery Central page that we just talked about. Or if I wanna look at the SolarWinds AI agent, I can go ahead and do that. Routing insights, we kind of already looked IT. And this is that the interactive piece of it. Right? If I wanted to go ahead and say, well, what is this? Right? I can go ahead and view a dashboard. And it just takes me rec directly to the product page that has the information for that dashboard. So it's it's kind of a a great way to see and understand the new features that are there. Some features might not have a page that will necessarily direct them to. So, like, we're gonna say, like, we introduced engine load balancing. So if I wanna know what's going on, right, we're gonna link directly to a knowledge base article that walks you through what is IT, how does it work, how do I configure IT. Alright. We'll just take you directly to the page SWO you can have the the insights there. The other thing for this particular what's new page is we understand that there's different licensing models that are out there, and we didn't want to attempt to hide all the features that we're bringing in. NTM we wanted to IT least bring awareness to the features that are in the platform regardless of the licensing. So if I had a licensing that maybe I didn't have routing insights SaaS an example, instead of a view dashboard button, what it would look like is you'd have a little tag at the top that says, hey. This requires a a particular license. And then instead of a view dashboard, it would give you a little more context to learn more, which would pop up a AI box on this page to learn a little more about it, and then it gives you the ability to do an instant evaluation of whatever that licensing model that includes the feature you could test it out. So we're kinda just driving that awareness in the what's new page. One of the things to note about the page is after you upgrade to that version, the admin users, when they log in, they'll actually be presented the what's new page first as their landing. It's only gonna happen the first time. They can navigate away. We just wanted to kind DPA, again, bring that awareness, and then they can always go back and find it by clicking on either the discovery or going back to Discovery Central and then just clicking on the what's new tab. So those are, I guess, the everything we wanted to showcase in the demo. But AI I said before, it's not everything. We definitely encourage you to go read the release notes, see everything that we have out there. There's a lot of great things that we are bringing NTM the platform that we're super excited for. SWO, hopefully, that was helpful for everybody on the demo. Oh, thanks, Gen. Alright. And we're back. We're back. Better than ever. Okay. Well, yeah. So, well, thanks for all the thumbs up. Yeah. We're we're excited about this release. There's a lot of good stuff in here, and we're excited to bring it to you. I see that there's been very robust q and a going on, so hopefully everybody's questions are getting answered. I will say that if, you know, we the team does download the questions and the chat conversation SWO that if for some reason your question does not get answered or you've somehow asked a question that stumped our team that's on the call, Gen, we will take it we'll take those questions and make sure that you do ETS answers. It's important to us that you that questions don't NTA Orion VMAN unanswered. So, I don't know if there's anything that's coming in, at the moment that we can respond to live, but, we definitely appreciate all of the feedback, that you guys have been providing. Well, here's one. Cloud monitoring related. What does Azure virtual DEM monitoring add in terms of functionality? Can we move the VPN status, for example? That is a great question. I actually don't know the specifics of this one. So, it's one that I'll have to work with my colleague who covers the the cloud side. So I think we get the yeah. I I I think we get the status, but I don't wanna misspeak either. Yeah. So I might have to defer that one. Okay. Not a problem. I'm gonna share oh, after this one, I'll share another one. So let's see. Okay. The Gen is working only on interface, NTM volume alerts, and if okay. So short answer is yes. Absolutely. So this release, we expanded to cover applications and virtualization NTA, but the goal is to add more over time. So the release that we'll have later this year in q four is gonna add aspects to logs into ITSM. And then it it and NCM isn't gonna be inside of the the the panel experience where you're conversing with the agent, but we're actually gonna be using it to help remediate items in there. I'll just throw that out of the teaser NTM not give too much. But we are or we're looking at how can we integrate really the capabilities across all of the feature sets and all the datasets that we are capturing. Plus, not only that, it's, you know, how do we tie those together in a better a better way? So there's a lot there's a lot coming on this on this agentic front. That actually goes in line with the next one I was gonna share. So I was gonna do this one. Does it work in an offline system? Today, it does not. However, we are looking to change that in the future. So for those that haven't heard of the acronym called MCP, short for model context protocol, that is basically the the underlying standard or framework for talking to some type of agentic, feature. We have built our SWO one agent off of MCP, and so we're we're actually using it. We just haven't exposed it for customers to use yet. We're making sure that it's working and that it behaves correctly and everything else before we do that. We have plans to actually release a public MCP server later this year, which this one would require online IT, but the goal is for the release in the first half of next year to have one that allows for offline connectivity for customers that maybe are are are air gapped networks. You know, they can't connect to anything outside, but they wanna supply their own hardware and use their own model. We give them the ability to do that and then talk to our MCP server and have access to the the tools that it can use and work with. So that is that is definitely coming. Alright. What other ones? Is there a recording for this presentation? Yes. In fact, the I think shortly after we wrap up, it'll be available on the same landing page that you used to to join, this live Gen, and you can just come back on NTA it'll show the option for, watching the on demand version. SWO, yes, this SaaS all been recorded and will be available to you. K. I'm gonna I'm gonna share this one. IT SaaS, new new to the solar system Platform. Is there a learning path? Absolutely. This one, I'm definitely gonna showcase. So we have a whole learning department that actually does recorded videos, instructor led classes. All of this stuff is actually included in, you know, what you've already bought. So if you're not familiar with it, if you log in to your SolarWinds customer portal, there's gonna be a, you know, education and training tab at the top, and you can actually find all of that content in what we're kinda calling the SolarWinds Academy. And you can search for content, find prerecorded videos, or you can look at a calendar to see if there I mean, class that covers the topic that you're interested in knowing more about and register for that and join it along with other customers who are also interested and have an interactive session with one of our training instructors to get more insights. And then you ETS, you know, the ability to have that. We always love to plug, the academy because they really do a good job. There's lots of, detailed courses on, you know, pretty much everything we sell. There's there's deep training available either on demand or, as Chad mentioned through live courses. They recently migrated to a new platform and AI there's some additional functionality there NTM. If you have been to the academy before but you haven't been back recently, you'll see, NTA updated UI and there's even learning paths. You can kind of choose your own adventure in there. It's much easier to surface the content that's relevant to you. It's a pretty good experience over there. And, yeah, definitely encourage you IT you are looking for deeper training, then that is the place to go, the SolarWinds Academy. We could probably spend all day, Eric, on this q and a. There's so much there's so much here. Yeah. It's pretty robust. I'm I'm definitely, thankful, for all of you for that. Yep. I'm gonna see if I can find it. I think it was asked early on, but it was in relation to the engine load balancing and how do we how do we work with that. AI, here's the question. Yes. SWO there are yes. You if you are new, there are we have, some courses that are designed specifically for, new customers, and, a lot of them are AI with, you know, getting started guides and things like that. So there's there's a yeah. But a lot of the content, even the longer courses that have multiple installments to them, they start with the basic stuff and then they get deeper and deeper and deeper the further you go. So, yeah, I would just say go up there, poke around, and you can build out a learning path for yourself that, that has the material that's relevant to you. Yeah. Alright. I I can't find the the question, so I'll just repeat it here. But it was basically they have a lot of engines in their environment. NTA how do how does engine load balancing work? And the the way it's structured is for observability IT hosted, a feature that was added several releases ago, gives the ability to have a more more than two servers in a pool. So kind of the the traditional pool was one active, one standby. We now allow the option to have many active and many in a single pool. So as an example, if I had 10 active, servers inside of an pool and maybe I decided to have four standby servers, They're all IT the same pool. If one of those actives goes down, it just grabs one of the next available standby servers. Makes it easier to manage because you don't have to have a one to one. You can technically shrink your SolarWinds footprint because you need less servers. But what happens now across those 10 active servers, you can choose to enable engine load balancing. And when that's enabled, we have a bunch of internal checks that are looking at resource utilization and load and everything. And there's mechanisms in place that will say, hey. I'm gonna attempt on this one engine based off what I'm seeing. And and based off the availability of the other engines, I'm gonna shift some nodes from this engine over. We have limits that cap how much can be moved at a single time and all of that to try and make sure we're not causing more problems in the environment. But that way, it will reassign the nodes automatically, and then it's just gonna periodically check. You know, after that dust settles and it looks at the the load, it'll go ahead and look at that. The the thing I'll mention on this, though, is it's not about making the assignments equal across the pool. What we're just looking for is is it healthy or NTM? So you could have an engine with more nodes assigned, but if that engine's not experiencing issues, then there's not really a reason to move nodes, if that makes sense. So there there's a lot there. I could probably keep going, but I'll I'll stop because I know I wanna answer more, here. But I'll I'll throw one more up here, and then I I'll I'll I'll touch on more. So this one IT, can SWO one create SWQL query for reports? For those not familiar with what SWQL is, that's just the SolarWinds query language. Basically, just a way to query data NTM, our API and use it for customer reports or alerts or dashboards. So this could be used in a lot of different areas. Definitely, the advanced route. AI not a database administrator, so any help in writing queries is IT great. The answer on this one is it's coming. It it might actually give you a query now if you were to ask it, but what we're looking for is to revamp this ability to say, hey. Show me top AI give you an example. Show me top 10 notes by high CPU. Right? And s w one would come back with a table view of that section. But if you wouldn't say, well, show me what show me what the query was that you used to build this. Right? It could go show you the query and then you could take that and run it into a report as an example. So what we wanna do is come out with some additional advanced capabilities, definitely more than what we have today inside the product that helps build that out. There's another one, and I'll I'll kick IT. This q and a is awesome. Yes. But I probably won't be able to find find it again. But it kinda asked around, can I use SDB one to build dashboards? Because AI I mean, some of the modern dashboards do require some of that query language or, you know, customization to build IT, and individual individuals might not be familiar with it. So what we're actually looking at releasing in the release by the end of the year is AI could say, hey. If it built some type of visualization inside of the panel, a table IT, or maybe it came back with a KPI widget or whatever, the option will be a button that SaaS, I want to take that and add it to an existing dashboard. And we're well, I've seen some some proof of concepts that engineering has built already that look awesome. I think it'll be a feature that is heavily used. What we're working through right now is just making sure what we call human in the loop is is flushed out. That's basically you're getting to a spot where now the SW1 one can make modifications to the platform because I'm now creating. I'm adding a dashboard or a widget to a dashboard. We have to make sure that the permissions are in line and working and the human in the loop requires a human to actually approve the action before we do anything about it. So that that is that's definitely coming. Good stuff. Shout out to Martin, Russell, Raymond in the chat, for reminding us SaaS much as we love to talk about sending you over to the academy for additional training and information. The, our THWACK site is also an excellent place to go and get questions answered. If you're not a member of the THWACK community or NTM familiar with it, that's our virtual online community and we have, in addition to folks like Chad and Crystal Taylor, one of our evangelists ETS contribute regularly and answer questions IT there. We also have some amazing MVPs, couple of whom are in this chat right now and they have deep, deep, deep, you know, technical knowledge about not just our products, but you know, their areas of expertise in Gen, and they are, awesome in sharing all of that, all of that information. And they're they're very generous with their with their AI, and, it's a great place to go if you're not not familiar with it. So, yeah, good good call out there. I know we're running well. I have a couple of just kind of announcements that I wanted to make. So I feel like we're gonna need to move on unless there's you have one No. We're IT. No problem. Is that good? Alright. We're good. Well, thanks everybody. I know we didn't answer everything. And as I said, if any questions did go unanswered, we will we will take them, back to the team and make sure that you get, you you get answers. We'll reach out. So I I I'm just gonna plug this. This is next week. Basically, it's the for the SaaS AI of the house. We are we're doing, these sorts of product updates as well. Obviously, the the, you know, the release structure is different for for SaaS. They're on sprint cycles, but it's gonna capture kind of the last quarter. So if you have interest in SaaS and you want to, check out what that's all about, what's new over on that side, this is a great, way to get SAM information. And if you go to the docs tab, I think we have all the links, including the link to the registration for this SW1, as well as the other things that I'm going to mention. Including the world tour, which we are in the midst of right NTM, I'm actually wearing the branding right AI. I have a world tour shirt. This is the one from last year. We have a AI of dates that are ongoing. We've already been to some IT. This is international, not just here in North America or Europe. This is all over the globe. We have, again, in the docs, there's a link to our world tour landing page, so you can see the cities that we're coming to soon. You can register, and it's an opportunity to come and and, you know, meet with us in person. We actually have one the next one is tomorrow here in Austin, Texas, and AI be at that one. Chad will not, but I know Chad will be there in spirit. But if you're in the Austin area, I think we still have the ability to to take a couple more folks. So if you wanna come down and join us tomorrow downtown at the Thompson Hotel, that's where we will be. And, if not, just go ahead to the to the page that's linked, in the docs and see if we're coming to a city near you soon, but you can, you know, talk with us and find out what's on the road map and hear what we're what we're working on, in person. It's IT ITSM a great opportunity to to interact with us and product team as well. So, I think that pretty much brings us to the end. This is just to remind me to mention the docs, which I have. Go in there and check out links. We've got, I think, links the release notes and some other things in there as well. So, again, I just want to, thank all of you for for coming and joining us. We really do appreciate. I can't emphasize enough how much we love your questions, how much we love your feedback, both the positive and the negative. We take all of it seriously, and, you know, the whole mission of SolarWinds is to help you solve the problems, that you guys have. And we're, you know, we're kindred spirits in this struggle to manage and monitor these ever expanding, environments that we all have to deal with. So thanks again to all of you. If you're if you're gonna be at one of the world tour sites, we'll look for you there. If not, we will have another release coming in the fall, and we'll do another one of these then. But please reach out to us, on plaque and all the other places where you can communicate with us. And, hope you all have a great day. Thank you so much. Thank you. Awesome. Thanks, everyone.
